BERLIN ITS

This work was made in Berlin, 2020-2022. It consists of 300

sheets of A4 paper with inkjet, felt pen, correction tape and

white-out. Origins for the work date to the 1980s when the use

of black dots on white ground became indicative of code

structures and semiotic suggestions, including broadly implied: face.

The perceptual stimulation of identity and difference creates

optical movement while inviting speculative cognition. The

work can be installed stacked six high and fifty across, or in other

groupings. The sheer quantity of variables creates the pulsing

vitality of the work.
